Iligan’s Pride

After a 2-hour drive from the busy city of Cagayan de Oro is where a small yet beautiful city known as the City of Waterfalls is located, Iligan City. Blessed with beautiful waterfalls, said waterfalls do not just beautify and or attract visitors to visit and explore the city but most importantly it is the main source of energy that provides its city’s electricity.
If you happen to visit Iligan, make sure that you do not miss to include in your list of destinations the Timoga Pools. Timoga is one of the commendable places in the city to visit, unwind and relax while enjoying the running water coming from one of the famous falls known as the Maria Cristina falls. Said tourist destination is composed of family-owned set of pools that you may choose from depending on the kind of adventure and people that you are with. Of course the place also has a lot of mouth watering food to satisfy your hunger which includes the tasty “lechon” and other beach foods as the opposite area of Timoga is where the small and calm beaches are located.
Apart from the city’s famous waterfalls and pools, Iligan is also proud of it’s locally made products that is continuously making a mark in the Philippine market. “Cheding Peanuts” and the tongue biting “Sukang Pinakurat” are two of the most famous products that the city is producing. All these are part of Iligan’s Pride, not to mention the hospitality of the people and the other hidden treasures and culture that the city holds.
